Monaco are continuing positive talks with Arsenal over the signing of striker Folarin Balogun, according to Sky Sports. Chelsea is also interested in the U.S. of the international game but have reached a stalemate over the departure of Romelu Lukaku, who stands several international games ahead

Talks between Arsenal and Monaco are promising, with the Gunners rejecting an opening offer for France defender Folarin Balogun

This is according to ‘Sky Sports’ who are also reporting that the Ligue 1 side are yet to back down with a second bid, but the talks are believed to be aimed at agreeing a fee over all costs prior to the completion of the payment process.

That same outlet reports that personal matters will not be an issue, and the 22-year-old would be open to a return to the French league, where he impressed last season on loan at Reims.

Monaco aren’t the only ones keeping an eye on the young talent though, as Chelsea are also interested in the US international. But the Gunners are asking for at least £50 million for their graduate, and this could possibly be too much for the Blues, given the risk of a sale to a Premier League rival.

Chelsea also appear to be devastated by the departure of striker Romelu Lukaku, who is training away from the first team. The Belgian would love a move to Juventus, but they currently lack the financial firepower to negotiate a permanent move with his English club rather than a loan move.
