While not a regular starter, Eric Garcia often steps up for Barcelona in the absence of key defenders. Recent reports from ‘Mundo Deportivo’ indicate that Arsenal has set its sights on Garcia due to a significant setback – Jurrien Timber’s ruptured cruciate ligaments, leaving a gap in their lineup.

Even with a hefty €45 million investment this summer to secure Dutch defender Timber, the Gunners are now without him for several months. This has prompted Mikel Arteta and the club’s executives to explore the option of signing a loan player, particularly in the final stages of the transfer window.

Eric Garcia’s familiarity with the Premier League, stemming from his stint with Manchester City from 2018 to 2021, makes him an appealing candidate for Arsenal. However, the prospective deal is far from straightforward.
