Real Madrid’s triumph in Galicia on Friday wasn’t entirely smooth sailing. Despite securing a 1-0 victory over Celta Vigo with Jude Bellingham’s header, there was an early hiccup for coach Carlo Ancelotti to contend with.

In the 18th minute, Vinicius Jr. went down on the pitch and signaled for a substitution, suggesting a possible issue with his thigh. Ancelotti swiftly made the decision to replace him, yet the coach seemed relatively unperturbed as he addressed the media post-match.

“Vinicius experienced some discomfort in the first half, prompting us to make the change. We’ll have to wait and see in the upcoming hours; it appears to be a minor muscle issue in his leg,” Ancelotti explained.

“Vini Jr. expressed his desire to continue, and I don’t believe it’s a serious concern. He gave it a try, but the discomfort was persisting, leading us to opt for the substitution,” the Italian continued. “I don’t think he’ll be available for the Getafe match, and this break will provide him with the chance to recover before our next game. He had a strong start to the match and looked unstoppable. It’s unfortunate.”
