The match at the Emirates Stadium started disastrously for Arsenal as Andreas Pereira capitalized on a poor pass from Bukayo Saka to catch Aaron Ramsdale off guard in the very first minute, putting Fulham ahead. The Cottagers’ resolute defense held firm for more than 70 minutes, frustrating Arsenal’s attempts to find an equalizer.

However, Arsenal managed to turn the game around with a swift double strike. Substitute Eddie Nketiah capitalized on Fabio Vieira’s well-placed cross to slot the ball into the net, equalizing the score. The momentum seemed to shift in Arsenal’s favor when Fulham’s Calvin Bassey received his second yellow card, reducing the visitors to 10 men.

Just when it looked like Arsenal would secure a comeback victory, Fulham managed to salvage a point. Joao Palhinha swept home a corner in the dying minutes of the game, stunning Arsenal’s defense and ensuring a dramatic draw for the 10-man team.

The result was a setback for Arsenal, allowing their north London rivals Tottenham to maintain their position at the top of the table on goal difference. Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory against Bournemouth, maintaining their strong start to the season.
