Confirmed: Sardar Azmoun Joins AS Roma on Loan from Bayer Leverkusen

AS Roma has officially announced the acquisition of Sardar Azmoun on Saturday. The Iranian striker joins the club on a loan deal from Bayer Leverkusen, with an option to make the move permanent at the conclusion of the season.

Tiago Pinto, the sporting director of AS Roma, expressed his enthusiasm about the signing, stating, “Azmoun is a player we have been tracking for quite some time, and his undeniable technical skills make him a valuable addition to our team. We are confident that our team environment will help him settle in quickly and that Sardar will have the opportunity to shine here in Italy.”

In the previous season, the 28-year-old forward showcased his abilities by scoring four goals and contributing four assists in 33 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.

Notably, Sardar Azmoun is a key figure in the Iranian national team as well, boasting an impressive record of 45 goals and eight assists in 71 official matches.
