Chelsea Considering Loaning Lukaku with Roma as Potential Option

Currently holding a contract at Stamford Bridge that stretches until 2026, Romelu Lukaku’s return to Chelsea after a loan spell at Inter Milan last season has posed several challenges for the club.

During this summer transfer window, attempts to secure a permanent transfer for the striker have faced setbacks, not only with Inter Milan but also with Juventus, as Lukaku himself opted against such moves.

Interestingly, Chelsea, who previously seemed reluctant about a loan arrangement for the 30-year-old, have now reportedly started contemplating this option. However, there’s a condition attached – they would consider a loan only if it includes a compulsory purchase clause.

Teams from the Saudi Pro League have inquired about Lukaku’s situation, although they are more inclined towards a permanent transfer.

The latest information from ‘The Telegraph’ suggests that Roma is engaging in discussions with Chelsea regarding a potential loan deal for Lukaku, given his decision against joining Juventus.

Within Chelsea, both the club and manager Mauricio Pochettino hold Lukaku in high regard, maintaining a positive relationship with him. However, all parties involved seem to agree that a departure, rather than a return to the previous status quo, appears to be the most suitable solution.
