Bellingham Continues Scoring Streak as Madrid Triumph over Celta Vigo

The English talent showcased his impressive form by scoring his fourth goal in three matches in the Spanish top flight, breaking through Celta Vigo’s resilient defense and dampening their centenary celebrations.

Real Madrid faced challenges during the match, with Rodrygo missing a penalty opportunity, and Vinicius Junior leaving the pitch due to a potential thigh injury. Early reports suggest that Vinicius’ injury might not keep him sidelined for long.

Kepa Arrizabalaga made his debut in goal for Real Madrid, temporarily replacing the injured Thibaut Courtois. Manager Carlo Ancelotti continued to place his trust in Bellingham in the No. 10 position, a spot where the young talent has been delivering exceptional results.

Bellingham showcased his scoring prowess once again against Celta Vigo, finding a crack in their defensive wall despite their solid five-man defensive setup under the management of former Madrid coach Rafa Benitez.

Celta Vigo seemed to take the lead early on, but Jorgen Strand Larsen’s goal was disallowed due to a soft foul by the forward on Arrizabalaga. Vinicius had to be substituted for Spanish international Joselu after 17 minutes due to a thigh issue, which is a concern for Madrid as their attacking options are relatively limited this season, with the departure of players like Karim Benzema.

Former Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza came close to scoring after half an hour with a stretching attempt that narrowly missed the target, and Joselu had a goal disallowed for being offside. Bellingham had a hard time getting the ball against Celta’s tight defense, but Rodrygo earned a penalty for Madrid.

Rodrygo’s penalty claim was a bit fortunate, as Celta Vigo’s goalkeeper Ivan Villar managed to push the ball away before colliding with the Brazilian forward. However, Villar made an excellent save from Rodrygo’s penalty kick, keeping the score level until Bellingham’s intervention.

In the 81st minute, Bellingham found the breakthrough, staying onside and heading the ball home from close range after Joselu directed it towards the goal.

Bellingham had previously expressed that he feels “10 times better” than last season due to the quality of the team around him at Madrid, and his performances have clearly reflected that sentiment. He has been a standout player for ‘Los Blancos’ so far.

While Madrid’s performance wasn’t as dominant as in their first two wins, they maintained their perfect record, temporarily taking the top spot in the table with a three-point lead. Earlier, Real Sociedad played out a goalless draw against newly promoted side Las Palmas, marking their third consecutive draw of the season.
