As the Liga action heats up, Villarreal is set to give Barcelona a tough test, while Real Madrid prepares to face Celta Vigo.

Barcelona, the reigning champions, have had a lackluster start to the season. After a frustrating goalless draw against Getafe in the opening week, they managed a late win over Cadiz, with Pedri Gonzalez’s goal sealing the victory. Unfortunately for Barcelona, Pedri will be sidelined for the next month due to a thigh injury, leaving a creative void in the midfield.

Newcomer Ilkay Gundogan has been settling in well and played a role in Pedri’s goal. Another standout has been 16-year-old talent Lamine Yamal, who impressed in a recent appearance. However, veteran striker Robert Lewandowski has struggled to find his form, going goalless and appearing disconnected from the team.

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has expressed faith in Lewandowski’s abilities and believes he will come good with time. Xavi’s tactical adjustments include using Frenkie de Jong as a makeshift center-back due to Ronald Araujo’s injury.

Villarreal, led by Gerard Moreno, presents a formidable challenge for Barcelona. Although explosive winger Yeremy Pino is sidelined, new signings Alexander Sorloth and Ben Brereton Diaz add quality to Villarreal’s attack.

On the other side, Real Madrid is gearing up for their clash with Celta Vigo. The Galicians are celebrating their centenary and aim to cause an upset. However, Real Madrid’s recent acquisition Jude Bellingham has made an impactful start, scoring three goals and providing an assist in his first two games. This makes Ancelotti’s side a formidable opponent.

Elsewhere, Rayo Vallecano faces Atletico Madrid in a capital derby, while Valencia hosts Osasuna. New arrival Pepelu, who netted from the penalty spot, is a player to watch for Valencia.
